It’s time for a blog update!
A couple things happened this week worth sharing.
First, I started…and I think…completed my ugly lamp project! Here’s a slideshow of how that went. There was definitely an awkward stage in there but I am pretty happy with how it came out in the end!
Second, in conversation with my new partner in crime, the lovely SLP I will be sharing my school with, I found out that the classroom situation may be evolving! Looks like she, I, and the other SLP who just does the preschool may be sharing one room instead of being next door to one another. And ya know what – that’s just fine! She was so thoughtful to send me some new pictures of the space I’ll get to use and It’s going to be just right :-) I was actually planning on only really decorating a portion of that big room I thought I was going to share with OT. Decorating an entire classroom this intricately would have been very expensive and very difficult to uninstall each year to allow for summer cleaning. So here is the space that I will get to work with (at least as the plan goes for now):
Flexibility has been my mission from the get-go with this project because there are so many unknown factors at play here. This is a brand new school for me in a brand new district with a brand new model of service delivery. I am excited for all these changes and it doesn’t bother me one bit when the game plan shifts. I knew from the start my mission was to make this project as big or as small as my circumstances allow – that goes for space, funds, energy…all of it!
Finally, just for giggles, here are a few goofy teapots I found at Goodwill this week - I didn't buy them but they were fun to find!
